Wounded Knee Man Sentenced for Sexual Abuse

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Wounded Knee man charged with Sexual Abuse of a Minor was sentenced on May 14, 2012, by U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy. Clayton Dale Jealous of Him, age 28, was sentenced to 24 months' imprisonment, 5 years' supervised release, and was ordered to pay $100 to the victim assessment fund.

In March 2011, near Wounded Knee, Jealous of Him knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a 14 year old girl. He pleaded guilty on November 29, 2011.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs-Office of Justice Services and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney Gregg S. Peterman prosecuted the case.

Jealous of Him was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
